Trade and Economic Cooperation Issues Discussed

Brasília, August 27, 2026 - A meeting was held at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Brazil between Ambassador of Kazakhstan Bolat Nussupov and President of BGI Brazil acting concurrently as the Vice President of BGI GLOBAL, Mr. Washington Fonseca, a prominent Brazilian lawyer.

The parties discussed opportunities to expand trade, economic and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Brazil, particularly with the State of São Paulo, and exchanged views on a number of projects of mutual interest.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan briefed his interlocutor on the political reforms underway in the country, in particular the transformation of the legislative branch and public administration institutions, including the adoption of the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the election of a unicameral parliament – the Kurultai.

In turn, Washington Fonseca briefed the Ambassador on the current activities of the BGI network and its intention to open a representative office in Astana, taking into account Kazakhstan’s growing importance on the international stage.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Ambassador Bolat Nussupov expressed his gratitude to his interlocutor for the successful cooperation and, on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states, presented him with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Embassy for his contribution to strengthening and expanding bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Brazil.
