President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was briefed on the socio-economic development of the region.
As of January 1, 2026, the gross regional product of West Kazakhstan Region reached 5 trillion tenge, increasing by 13.6% over three years. Since 2023, 2.3 trillion tenge in investment has been attracted to fixed capital.
The Head of State was provided with detailed information on the implementation of his previous instructions. Construction of a gas processing plant at the Karachaganak field, with an annual capacity of 5 billion cubic meters of gas, is expected to begin in the near future. In addition, construction of a bridge across the Ural River is planned to begin by the end of the year.
Over the past three years, 121 new social facilities worth a total of 138 billion tenge have been built in the region. A total of 1,542 kilometers of roads at various levels have been repaired. Reconstruction of the Syrym road border checkpoint on the Kazakhstan-Russia border is ongoing. In total, four newly built and reconstructed railway stations worth 7.6 billion tenge have been commissioned.
In Uralsk, six sewage pumping stations that had not been repaired for 60 years were modernized and commissioned. Reconstruction of two more sewage pumping stations is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
In addition, two heating mains were modernized at a cost of 11.2 billion tenge, ensuring a stable heat supply for 60,000 residents. A total of 7,000 kilometers of electricity networks were upgraded, reducing their level of deterioration from 82% to 75.4%.
Last year, gross agricultural output reached 320 billion tenge. Since the launch of the Auyl Amanaty program, 1,414 projects have been financed and around 2,000 new jobs have been created.
As part of the regional “Qaladan – auylga” program, more than 1,000 people have relocated to rural areas. All 218 families have been provided with housing and received social support.
The Head of State gave a number of specific instructions aimed at the further development of the region, accelerating the modernization of public utilities infrastructure, and improving the quality of life of the population.
