Today, Kazakhstan ranks 24th in the UN E-Government Development Index. The eGov platform has been established, a significant share of widely used public services is already available online, and mobile services continue to develop. Therefore, the large-scale adoption of artificial intelligence set as a priority by the Head of State is a logical next step.
That is why today’s Government meeting addressed the issue from a broader perspective — moving beyond the development of individual digital services towards the creation of an AI-powered ecosystem of public services.
Its key components are already being developed: QazTech is building a unified technological foundation, eGov 3.0 is simplifying public services, eGov GPT is transforming the way people interact with the government, AI offices are transforming Public Service Centers, and eGov Business is bringing services for entrepreneurs together.
The main measure of effectiveness is no longer the number of information systems developed or even the number of services available online. A digital government should be measured by how much time it saves citizens and businesses.
The fewer applications, certificates, queues, manual approvals, and unnecessary steps required to achieve a result, the more successful the digital transformation is.
